Programmer - Bungie Project - Vancouver


Activision's Central Technology group is looking for a programmer who will work with other engine and interface programmers, designers and artists to take online features from concept to execution related to a new AAA game franchise being developed at Bungie and published by Activision.The role will report to the Technical Director and will be based in Vancouver, BC.

 


Duties and Responsibilities:    


 


  • Collaborate with designers and artists to create unique social and online experiences

  • From beginning to end, shape asynchronous multiplayer systems through discussion, prototyping, production and tuning

  • Design and implement extensible and maintainable core systems for online interactions

  • Create, develop and maintain advanced tools and pipelines to support rapid iteration and final polishing

  • Develop implementation strategies for platform-agnostic game/engine feature requirements

  • Support development on multiple platforms

  • Supervise or conduct periodic design and code reviews

Position Qualifications:


 


Educational Requirements: 


  • Degree in Computing Science, Engineering or equivalent experience

 


Special Knowledge, Skills:


·         Strong C++ programming skills required


·         Knowledge of scripting languages (Lua, ActionScript, Python) preferred


·         Strong understanding of software design techniques required


·         Strong debugging skills required


·         Strong knowledge of performance/memory constraints of game software required


·         Expert understanding of game development tools required


·         Experience with PS3/Xbox360 development required


·         Experience with Mobile development (iOS and Android) preferred


·         Experience with Flash and Scaleform preferred


  • Experience with Web development preferred

 


Prior Experience/Previous Positions related to current position:  


  • 3 years of related experience required
