Blizzard Entertainment is seeking an engineer to develop data automation focused on large financial datasets. This position requires both strong database engineering experience as well as the ability to effectively manage accounting and financial projects.

Responsibilities
Manage and maintain the systems used in the financial close process.
Develop and maintain process for dealing with Blizzard business models.
Ensure data used in financial close is optimized, accurate and complies with Sarbanes-Oxley internal control requirements.
Interact and work with other departments and international offices involved with financial data.

Requirements
Strong experience working with relational databases (especially SQL Server and Oracle)
Extensive background extracting and transforming complex data sets (ETL process design and administration)
Strong technical understanding of data modeling, design, architecture principles, and techniques to take business requirements from concept to implementation
Experience with finance projects and financial closing processes
Experience with developing software within a strong internal control environment which complies with Sarbanes-Oxley
Excellent communication and project management skills
High level of integrity
Good knowledge of and experience working for a publicly traded company with international subsidiaries
Strong attention to detail and the ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced environment.

Pluses
Familiarity with enterprise ETL tools, preferably DMExpress
Experience with SQL Server Reporting Services, SQL Server Analysis Services, and SQL Server Integration Services
General understanding of accounting principles and GAAP
Passion for video gaming and familiarity with Blizzard Entertainment games (StarCraft, Warcraft, Diablo)
