Blizzard Entertainment is seeking a highly skilled senior user interface (UI) software engineer to join the World of Warcraft team. The ideal applicant will have at least five years of programming experience and understand the challenges of updating and maintaining a large and existing code base. The individual must be able to create and optimize UI widgets, as well as texture and font rendering. Applicant must be able to work closely with technical and non-technical team members.

Responsibilities

Develop back-end functionality to support front-end features.
Construction and maintenance of interface widgets.
Maintain and optimize texture and font rendering systems.
Create tools for use by designers and other programmers.
Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

A minimum of 5 years programming experience
Fluent in C / C++
Fluent in high-level scripting languages such as Lua, perl, or PHP
Strong math skills
Passion for playing and making video games (especially Blizzard Entertainment games)

Pluses

Experience with developing UI modifications for World of Warcraft
Strong knowledge of Lua
Understanding the requirements of international languages on UI
Degree in computer science or related field
