RESPONSIBILITIES:
If you want to create bleeding-edge games and have the chance to pursue the latest trends in gaming, this job is for you. We need a creative, lightning paced programmer that can both design new concepts as well as follow the needs of the end-user. Specifically, we're looking for someone with solid C/C++ experience with the added twist of UnrealScript.
Reporting to the Director of R&D, this position would have two crucial roles:
1) support and upgrade the existing interfacing: we don't deal with handheld joysticks and game controllers here, we use laser and live-fire weapons. Check out lasershot.com for more specifics. There is a constant need to improve and leap forward with new interfacing techniques and this position requires someone who can both bring new ideas to the table as well as follow tried-and-true methods of the team.
2) Game Engines: We are currently working with custom engine & UDK and need someone who can take the plunge with new ideas and make them into both effective and quick product off-shoots. Mod'ers are welcome. The focus will be on those who can take an idea and make it a reality in record time.
REQUIRED SKILLS:
Strong programming in C and C++ (5+ years)
UnrealScript / UDK experience
Experience with development tools (debugger, profilers, version control ...)
Knowledge of Visual Studio programming environment
Software prototyping to convey quick ideas
Works well both in a team and independently
DESIRED SKILLS:
Flash ActionScript
OpenGL/DirectX
Unity / CryEngine
Prior industry game development
Project tools (RedMine, MS Project, …)
Mobile Apps (iPhone, Android, etc.)
Prior experience with interfaces, GUIs a significant plus
Ability to quickly and efficiently convey technical and complex ideas
Project lead experience
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor of Engineering or Science
Minimum 4 years of C/C++ programming
Experience debugging and trouble shooting quickly
