Aptima is a market leader in optimizing human performance within complex, mission-critical systems. Aptima has an opening for a Senior Software Engineer with an expertise in Game Development who will be responsible for the full life-cycle development on new and existing projects. We are looking for a highly motivated, innovative professional with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience working in a game-based software development environment or scientific research environment.
Specific responsibilities will include:
■ Lead and materially contribute to technical software development, game design, and artwork
■ Requirements analysis, design, implementation, and testing of innovative new game-based applications
■ Collaboration with the science based technical staff, contractors and customers to identify system and software requirements
■ Write functional and technical documentation, and proposals
Minimum Requirements:
■ BA/BS degree in Computer Science or Computer Animation
■ Minimum of 2 years experience as a game developer or game designer
■ Strong analytical, problem identification and reporting skills
■ Proven track record of innovative technical contribution
■ Excellent communications skills (verbal and written)
■ Expertise in Game Engines (Unity 3D highly preferred) and Game development environments
The candidate must demonstrate professional development experience and proficiency with:
■ At least two of the following programming languages: C#, C++, Java
■ Web technologies and XML, relational databases and SQL
■ Object oriented development methods
■ Scripting languages, animation, artwork, rigging, and modeling tools (Maya, 3D Max, etc.)
■ Visualization, user interface design and GUI development
Experience with any of the following would be a plus:
■ .NET Framework and Integrated Development Environments (e.g. Visual Studio, Eclipse)
■ Agent-based systems, artificial intelligence, constraint programming
■ Mobile applications development, HTML5, or CSS3, web-based applications
■ Natural language processing, robotics, cyber operations, modeling algorithms, optimization
■SBIR- and/or DOD-related software projects
■ Distributed interactive simulation applications or environments (working knowledge of HLA and/or DIS)
Aptima will not compensate applicants for any travel or relocation expenses to fill this position. All applicants must be willing to work onsite in one of Aptima’s locations, Monday through Friday (no telecommuting or compressed schedules).
