Ubisoft Singapore opened its doors on July 2008 and is the 18th Ubisoft internal development studio. Located in the Fusionopolis (Solaris @ One-North), a state-of-the-art Infocomm Technology and Media hub, the studio comprises a core team of Ubisoft veterans as well as a fast growing development team - ranging from recent graduates to industry professionals.

In the short span of four years, the full-fledged development studio has already been involved in the production of some major titles such as Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood, Assassin’s Creed 2, Assassin’s Creed 3, Ghost Recon Online, Prince of Persia : the Forgotten Sands and created independently Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Turtles in Time Re-Shelled on Xbox Live Arcade and Playstation Network.

With the focus of creating and developing new high-profile AAA game titles, the expansion of the studio is expected to be rapid as it strives towards its goal of becoming 300-people strong in the years to come.

Role Summary

Responsibilities

• Put in place and document the graphic production pipeline (modelling, animation, characters, lighting, SFX etc)
• Test the new tools before deployment into production
• Create, organize and lead training sessions for the Graphic team members on the tools and techniques chosen and follow through that they are being used throughout project
• Coordinate and act as an intermediary between his / her Graphic team and the Tool Programming team
• Guide and provide constant support to team members
• Record the technical innovations according to his / her expertise ti produce the desired effects of the project and to improve quality
• Test and confirm that the intended techniques are possible with the tools chosen and validate the quality of the products with the DA and CPI
• Produce a technical reference and / or technical constraints document, keep it updates and communicate it
• Communicate regularly the technical constraints and the reason to the team
• Assure the homogeneity of the technical quality throughout the game
• Propose and create the right tools to accelerate certain procedural tasks which the Graphic team is responsible
• Provide constant support to the Graphic team in terms of the production software of the engines used
• Follow up on the evolution and distribution of tasks of his / her Assistant DT
• Evaluate maps on the technical plan
• Any other ad-hoc duties, if necessary

Requirements

Knowledge

• Detailed knowledge of the jobs required to produce a video game
• Detailed knowledge of the technical constraints of engines and the different game platforms
• Knowledge of 2D and 3D graphic software
• Knowledge of an asset management system (ex : Perforce, VSS, Alienbrain)
• Knowledge of a programming language (C++) (an asset)
• Knowledge of Max Script (an asset)

Qualifications, Experience, Attributes

• AEC in Graphic Design 2D & 3D or AEC in Video Game Development OR
• Bachelor in Graphic Communication
• At least 3 years pertinent experience in 3D real time (Level Artist, Modeller, Texturer, Assistant Graphic Technical Director)
• Experience in the supervision of artists through a creation process will be advantageous
• Leadership qualities, and able to express ideas
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Flexible, and a good team player
