Digital Extremes is looking for talented Technical Artists to join our team.

Main Responsibilities:
• Create workflows, techniques, and processes to maximize artist productivity
• Propose and develop solutions to the art pipelines, focusing on reducing artist iteration time and maximizing visual polish
• Work closely with Art Directors, Lead Artists and Programmers to create powerful, artist friendly tools and technologies, and implement feature roll-out
• Research new techniques for art creation and styles
• Support and train art staff in new techniques and processes
• Simple rigging, lighting and animation as needed.

Qualifications:
• 3+ years of experience in the videogame industry in a technical artist role
• Proficiency in Maya/Max from all aspects of 3D (modeling, texturing, shading, lighting, and rendering)
• Strong knowledge of creating simple and sophisticated scripts in 3D packages (MEL, etc.) and proficiency with common scripting languages (LUA, Python, etc.)
• Experience in developing material, shader, and effects for current gen projects and platforms
• Excellent understanding of rendering, budgets, and other technical issues related to performance
• Experience in collaborating with graphic programmers and explaining art pipelines to artists
• Exemplary oral and written communication skills, time-management and organizational skills.
• Attention to detail, self-motivated and proactive.
• Have a genuine enthusiasm and interest in video games.
