Job Descriptiontop

Harmonix is seeking an accomplished Lead Concept Artist to contribute to new game initiatives and forge another generation of innovative titles. Concept Artists visualize environments and characters by collaborating with a multi-disciplinary team of game developers to determine art direction and game play.

Responsibilities

~Empower the team to invent a cohesive art direction
~Manage workloads, deliverables and deadlines for the team
~Discern the best course of action as feedback comes at the team from all angles
~Create high quality concept paintings to contribute to team progress
~Promote best practices in the concept art pipeline to streamline production
~Keep art forums organized
~Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team of game developers
~Work closely with the Lead Artist to create concept paintings following the established art direction
~Share skills and techniques with other concept artists

Desired Qualifications

~1+ years as a Lead Concept Artist at a AAA game company
~2+ years Concept Artist at a game company
~ BFA from accredited Art or Design college
~Minimum of 1 game shipped as a Concept Artist
~Demonstrated outstanding drawing and painting skills with a keen color sense
~Expert level proficiency in Adobe Photoshop
~Experience with 3DSMax and Z Brush, a plus
~Self-starting and organized
~Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and superior people skills to work in a creative and positive manner with the team
~Understanding of when to sacrifice quantity or quality to adhere to schedules and milestone deliveries
~Ability and willingness to create games that do not follow traditional game-art styles
~A love of music and an openness to new music
