Position overview:
As an online programmer, you will be responsible for integrating and implementing core online components on multiple hardware platforms. You will work closely with gameplay programmers and designers, and will provide technical recommendations to product owners for implementing new online features.
Key responsibilities:
This position requires 3+ years of experience programming in C/C++ and a Bachelor degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or in a related field. You must be able to demonstrate at least 2 years hands-on experience developing scalable online systems, and show a strong understanding of networking architectures, protocols, bandwidth and latency issues.
You must be an avid gamer, with a passion for learning and for creating top-quality games.
The ideal candidate has a keen understanding of multiplayer architectures, database systems, redundancy, robustness, scalability, cheating, error handling and is familiar with both PS3 and Xbox 360 hardware and online services (PSN, Xbox Live). Experience with C#, Scaleform, and/or Java is an asset.
