CCP North America is looking for an extremely talented senior artist to establish the standards and drive the quality of the textures and materials for the groundbreaking World of Darkness. The ultimate candidate is an artistic and technically competent person with a passion and clear expertise in material creation and surfacing along with the ability to deliver texture assets and libraries at the highest quality level.


The Senior Texture Artist will help define and refine the material related pipelines and proprietary tools needed to create some of the most impressive surfaces, environments, and characters attempted in games.

Responsibilities include:

Setting clear and impressive quality expectations and requirements for all surfaces in a visually stunning game
Translating mood and style from concept art to in-game environments and characters
Work with the Art Director to establish and achieve the desired style and visual look for the game
Work with the graphics and lighting teams to establish new groundbreaking methodology and tech
Be responsible for the surface style, texture, and material libraries to ensure quality, consistency, scalability, and performance
Collaborate closely with the tech artists and the rendering engineers to provide feedback on and improve the material technology, tools, and workflows
Work with the environment and character teams to deliver the highest quality visual experience

Experience Requiredtop

Required Experience/Skills:

Incredible expertise in traditional arts and the ability to create 2D texture maps
Advanced understanding of layered materials and techniques utilizing specialized shaders and procedural content.
Strong understanding of digital painting, color theory, lighting, and surface qualities
3+ years of experience as a dedicated texture or material artist for games or film
Shipped and worked full cycle on at least one AAA game.
Detailed technical knowledge of game asset construction and material pipeline concepts
Expertise and experience in the development of material and shader related tech
Experience with content creation in software packages like Maya and Photoshop
Excellent technical and artistic problem solving skills
Formidable leadership skills, creative vision, and passion for games
Good communication skills, ability to communicate and work effectively with others
Working knowledge of benefits and challenges in a deferred renderer as it pertains to lighting and materials
