SUMMARY OF POSITION

WB Games Inc. seeks a Lead Software Engineer for the Midway Chicago Development department. Position leads a team of engineers in the development of software products. Develops programming schedules and assigns programming modules and tasks to team members. Designs, develops, writes, tests and debugs complex code for new and upgraded software products.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead a group of engineers in the development of new engine systems and tools in addition to leveraging newest technologies.
  • Work closely with game play engineers, game designers, artists, and producers to develop the technical designs, engineering schedules, and engine systems.

  • Hold departmental meetings to gather feature requirements and discuss implementation strategies.


  • JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum of B.S. in Computer Science or equivalent work experience.
  • Typically, incumbent has five to ten years of software development experience in the game industry.
  • 7+ years of professional C/C++ programming.
  • Experience leading a team or 3+ people.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work well in a team development environment.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and deadlines.
  • Focused, results-oriented, self-motivated, with excellent debugging skills.
  • Microsoft Visual Studio C++/.NET development environment.
  • Experience with game engines and/or tools and a working knowledge of 3D math.
  • Large-scale game development experience from concept to completion.
  • Experience architecting large robust systems.
  • Strong interest in computer and video games.
