Fitchburg State University is seeking to hire dynamic faculty who are committed to providing an exceptional educational experience to a diverse student body in its undergraduate day programs while preparing students to lead, serve, and succeed by fostering lifelong learning and civic and global responsibility. The University provides leadership and support for the economic, environmental, social, and cultural needs of North Central Massachusetts and the Commonwealth.

Positions may include graduate-level teaching responsibilities with opportunities to teach summer and winter sessions, online, and undergraduate and graduate evening courses.

Job Descriptiontop

Duties and Responsibilities:
1.Teaching workload (24 semester hours of credit of instruction per school year), preparation for classroom instruction.
2.Instructional responsibilities may include (but may not be limited to) courses in 3D modeling, level design, game art, serious games, game design workshops and web and or mobile interactive design.
3.Desirable subfields: current game engines, 3D-modeling/graphics, mobile, interactive and web design.
4.Provide student assistance including academic advising.
5.Participation in scheduled orientation and registration programs.
6.Participate in curriculum review and development, program reviews and student outcomes assessment.
7.Attendance at college functions, including commencement, convocation and faculty, committee and departmental meetings.
8.Continuing scholarship and professional activities which include contribution to the content of the discipline, participation in or contribution to professional organizations and societies, research demonstrated by published or unpublished work, public service and contributions to the professional growth and development of the college community.
9.Opportunities to teach summer, winter term, online and undergraduate and graduate evening courses.

Qualifications:
1.Requires a terminal degree in a field related to Game Design.
2.Experience in the Game / Interactive Entertainment industry preferred.
3.Ability to integrate appropriate and current technology and software in teaching.
4.Participation in professional organizations or societies, outreach activities with community businesses, and/or service-learning activities are strongly encouraged.
5.Commitment to excellence in teaching, demonstrated teaching experience commensurate to the level of appointment and evidence of appropriate scholarly/creative activity.
6.Ability to work effectively with a diverse student body.
7.A commitment to research, publication, and/or creative work that will engage undergraduate students.
8.Ability to perform all duties with or without reasonable accommodations.

Salary commensurate with qualifications, experience and the MSCA Bargaining Agreement.
