Well Sourcebits based out of San Francisco, California is hiring a Sr. Art/Creative Director to help artistically transform current and future game projects.
Here is what we are looking for...
Lead and motivate the art team to realize overall goals and deliver quality art assets according to milestone timelines
Assist the production team in the creation and overall management of the art schedule and resource plans
Tracking and approving completed art assets
Collaborate with programmers for technical ideas and solutions
Create and ensure that the art team’s style remains consistent
Responsible for establishing the art production pipeline and enforcing the process throughout the project cycle
Design revisions as necessary to adapt to changing situations to meet established milestone timelines
Identify risks in the art pipeline and work with the production team to resolve them
Keep team updated on project status and vision through the preparation and presentation of appropriate project materials (e.g., milestone updates, demos, etc)
Mentor and serve as a creative resource for the team, assisting in the resolution of complex problems, and helping them grow in their roles
Skills and abilities:
Understands game production design process and methodology
Demonstrate an understanding of storytelling, craftsmanship and continuity visually
Effective communication with producers, art staff and senior management
Ability to balance deadlines and resources with style and quality
Ability to maintain pacing in situations of intense schedules
Strong time management skills and able to juggle multiple tasks
Ability to work cooperatively on a team spanning from producers, artists, programmers and designers
Ability to compromise when necessary to achieve overall best results
Ability to communicate effectively with executive level staff on a broad range of topics: technical, business, and creative
Lead Artist role demonstrating a very high visual bar
At least 5 years prior game industry experience
B.A. or equivalent degree
RPG and RTS gaming experience
UI Design experience
Shipped a minimum of 2 video games
Special consideration to candidates with experience in:
Casual/Social games (Farmville, etc;)
Realtime strategy games
