We offer an outstanding opportunity for two Computer Programmers to join the team of Atlantic Canada’s fastest-growing entertainment company.

We are seeking talented individuals to create codebase for use in video games and to ensure games run smoothly. This position covers everything from gameplay physics to systems and engine scripting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identifying most stable and efficient means of coding multiple assets and ensuring scripts are clean and reliable
  • Collaborating with multiple divisions of the development team
  • Identifying ideal specifications with respect to programming from game designers and help develop documentation that outlines those needs
  • Collaborating with QA to create test scenarios that identify weaknesses or bugs in the systems in order to maintain reliable code
  • Finding areas for improvement within scripts, and conducting research to suggest new methods or available software that may benefit the development of game products within the studio
  • Following established procedures for porting of new assets through the pipeline and adhering to policies concerning workflow
  • Ensuring integrity of the code as defined in design documentation, and taking a proactive approach to enhancing the stability of all programming systems

Experience Requiredtop

Requirements:
  • 2-3 years experience, preferably on a well-known mobile title or AAA title
  • 2 or more shipped game titles, casual / mobile preferred (educational a plus)
  • Experience with or knowledge of the Unity engine
  • Experience programming in C#, Javascript, Python, and Unix Shell Scripting
  • Experience with OpenGL/Directx Programming and Unity3D Experience
  • Firm understanding of physics concepts such as collision and particle dispersion
  • Demonstrated ability to write clean, portable code
  • Experience with digital platforms such as iOS and Android
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or computer game development
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work well with a team, but also organized and independent
  • Ability to self-manage and provide realistic and achievable timescales
  • Highly motivated and passionate about interactive design and games

Desirable:
  • Familiarity with Perforce
  • Familiarity with educational games
  • Familiarity with OpenGL/Directx programming
  • Experience with or knowledge of FMOD
  • Previous experience as an AI programmer, physics programmer, gameplay scripter, or in another specialist capacity
  • Proficiency with camera systems, AI programming, and animation
  • Experience with development and production pipelines
