Primary Functions
The Live Producer will work with multi-disciplinary teams (developers, marketing, QA, data analysts, community, customer service) to guide post-launch development activities for SEGA’s online games. The ideal candidate has experience using data to derive insights into player behavior and the ability to use that insight, along with feedback from other teams, to drive new features and updates. This person must possess excellent communication skills, a solid understanding of product development and strong project management skills. This position is accountable for retention and monetization KPI goals and generally ensures the quality of service as specified by the VP of Digital and Director of Online.
Responsibilities
• Plans and manages live (post-launch) releases and tracks emergent issues
• Works with dev teams and other groups to ensure product’s timely, cost-effective, high-quality delivery
• Evaluates features, schedule, scope, and resource trade-offs
• Creates and maintains production roadmap
• Communicates schedules, objectives, status and progress of all releases to management and the team
• Evangelizes the product and motivates others
• Manages producers and contractor budgets as required
• Supports marketing & PR efforts as required
• Ensures game design reflects current market trends and meet customer expectations via continuous solicitation of feedback (external and internal)
• Establishes processes and standards to make releases more efficient, effective and bug-free
• Supports Director of Online by executing a variety of tasks related to the development of assigned software products from concept to release
• Identifies potential problems early, and contributes to solving those problems in a timely manner
• Works with the community, QA, marketing and customer service teams to create comprehensive patch notes and other release-related communications
• Ensures timely and accurate asset flow - manages, coordinates and controls the delivery of assets, tools and features, localization and marketing/PR materials
• Identifies oportunities to increase retention and monetization
• Optimizes the first time user experience
• Identify and develop new sales opportunities to effectively maximize sales performance
• Establish and manage optimal pricing of virtual items
• Increase monetization rate by developing well-timed in-game messages and user-friendly first-time hands on experience for potential paying users
• Create and manage special VIP programs to increase and maintain paying user base
Qualifications
• University degree or graduate of a recognized post-secondary program in project management or related discipline preferred
• 3-5 years of production support experience within the video game industry, 3 years of which were experience as a Producer
• Service-based online games experience (MMO, social, mobile), particularly in F2P
• Strong knowledge in the overall virtual economic mechanisms and systems in F2P games
• Strong problem solving and decision-making ability
• Proven success in collaborating with a multi-disciplinary team in achieving established objectives
• Self-starter with superior time management, project management and organizational skills
• Ability to create wire-frames, product specifications and white papers
• Experience with a web-based company managing games and multivariate testing is preferred
• Strong passion for games, creating fun, compelling user experiences
• Exceptional data analysis skills
• Outstanding written/oral, organizational, and attention to detail
• Ability to motivate team, provide clear direction, and give insight on industry trends
• Experience with software development environments and various production methodologies
• Proven team building and leadership skills, capable of inspiring and motivating to maximize team/department performance
• Ability to communicate effectively with different audiences on a broad range of topics: technical, business and creative
