Senior 3D Artist
Job Description:
IPKeys Technologies is looking for an experienced 3d Game Artist to join our team. We are seeking motivated game-savvy modeler/texture artists capable of delivering the highest-quality game art possible and at the same time individuals ready to work, lead and mentor in a collaborative, cross-discipline environment. You must be detail oriented with at least two AAA game titles shipped and four years of game industry experience. You must have a clear understanding of game development processes and experience with 3D software.
Requirements:
· 4+ years 3D modeling and texturing experience in a video game production environment.
· 2 or more shipped current generation titles.
· Extensive portfolio displaying diverse artistic skills.
· Art-related college or university degree: BA or BFA
· Thorough understanding of environmental design and its functions within a game.
· Experience using Unreal 3.
· Extensive knowledge of Maya, Max, Zbrush or equivalent 3D software.
· Extensive knowledge of Photoshop and texturing.
· Outstanding modeling skills at both low and high resolutions.
· Ability to take direction and constructive criticism in a positive manner.
· Experience managing, mentoring and coaching of more junior staff.
· Superior communication skills.
· Driven, focused, and won’t settle for mediocrity.
· Must be willing to put in the time required to create great work while meeting all milestones.
Responsibilities:
· Utilizing his or her subject matter expertise to assist the Art Director in assigning tasks to 3D art department staff at the appropriate level for such tasks.
· Taking ownership of assigned tasks, and taking pride in the quality of the work he or she creates.
· Accurately creating visual elements in line with the visual direction defined by the Art Director.
· Frequently interfacing with the Art Director and art team to ensure consistency between concept and 3D assets.
· Working within established art, technical and visual style parameters in accordance with a game design document.
· Working with Art Director and Designers to ensure that all 3D elements contribute to an outstanding game play experience.
· Actively mentoring, coaching, teaching and training junior artists.
· Acting as a resource to the junior members of the Art team and other staff, and acting as a representative of the Art Department within the studio.
· Consistently sharing and applying new industry, technical and company information within the Art department and to members of the studio generally.
· Preparing assets for export to game engine.
· Performing art tasks as necessary including, but not limited to: modeling, texturing, environmental art, special effects, concept art, 2D art, etc.
· Consistently striving to exceed the highest quality standards of the studio.
· Taking initiative for improving the studio – striving to create efficient systems for use by the Art team and the studio in general.
· Demonstrating enthusiasm, drive and a sense of urgency when performing job functions.
· Remaining flexible in undertaking any other such duties and responsibilities as directed.
