Job Description:
Description of Duties

Collaborates with production team to visualize assigned software game art such as look, feel, design, color and mood
Illustrates concepts through sketches, paintings and computer generated imagery
Performs research to participate in concept design
Makes artistic presentations as needed
Provides artistic direction and guidance to production artists
Collaborates with Art Director, other Artists and Designers to create concepts that meet overall Art Direction
Produces art for characters / objects / environments
Creates pre-production concept art for presentation and design proposals to external companies
Creates storyboards, background illustration and texture maps
Designs and creates front end/UI graphics and promotional art work
Game level design
Recommends, evaluates and implements new tools
Also responsible, as schedule demands, to produce art related to Environment Art, Character Art, OR Animation.

Environment Art
Designs and creates art work for in-game Environments
Collaborates with Art Director, Lead Artist and other Environment Artists to create Environment Art that meets overall Art Direction
Designs and implements environmental textures
Character Art

Designs and creates art work for in-game Characters
Collaborates with Art Director, Lead Artist and other Character Artists to create Character Art, Models and Textures that meets overall Art Direction
Animation

Creates and implements 3-D animation for assigned aspects of products
Collaborates with Art Director, other Animators, Designers and Engineers to create animations that meet overall Art and Design Direction
Summary of Requirements

Requires strong 2D drawing skills and an understanding of fundamental artistic concepts and the use of color
Must demonstrate the ability to execute a wide range of artistic styles
Understands Retro/Nintendo production pipeline
Proven proficiency with Retro 2D art production tools
Experience with level design
Some 3D computer modeling and texture experience
Good organizational skills
Environment Art, Character Modeling OR Animation skills required
Two or more years' experience, including at least one complete product cycle in the industry - Level 1, 2 or 3 depends on specific skill and experience


Education

Undergraduate degree in art related subject or completion of an intensive art training program or equivalent
