The Company of Heroes team is looking for an experienced Senior Network Programmer. The ideal candidate possesses outstanding communication skills and is capable of working with a team of designers, programmers and artists in the design and implementation of cutting edge games.
* This is an 8 month contract position.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assist in the development of the network infrastructures needed for our next generation of games
Participate in cross-disciplinary meetings and solve problems
Meet the scheduled assignments
Ensure the quality of the elements created
Create and maintain a code module, tool, or team process. This should be done with little or no direction required
Ensure acceptable usage of coding standards, processes, pipelines, and tools
Constantly assess the technical and schedule feasibility of the project’s design
Ensure deliverables are set and completed within time and quality expectations while adhering to and advancing internal standards
Stay in tune with emerging programming trends and products, know what is happening in the gaming marketplace
REQUIREMENTS:
Experience writing multithreaded code
Strong Knowledge of Java
Strong Knowledge of C++ and STL
Strong Object-Oriented design skills
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Demonstrated knowledge of good software engineering practices
Education in Computing Science, Engineering or Mathematics Courses.
Knowledge of Network session management
Peer to peer networking experience
Distributed algorithms
Experience with cluster development
ASSETS:
Experience with database systems
Experience with game networking middleware such as Gamespy SDK, Quazal, Demonware
Experience with peer-peer networking is an asset
Experience and Knowledge of NAT/Firewall negotiation
Experience with TCP/IP and UDP networking protocols
Cryptography background
Proven MMO infrastructure development experience
