Job Description:
Relic Entertainment, award-winning developer of Homeworld, Dawn of War and Company of Heroes, wants an experienced and motivated Senior Associate Producer to help us manage Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine, our new console action RPG set in the Warhammer 40K Universe.

Our ideal candidate possesses outstanding communication skills, and can work well with a team of designers, programmers and artists designing and implementing cutting edge AAA games.

We manage projects to deliver the highest quality games within reasonable timeframes and budgets; we enjoy a stable and supportive relationship with our parent company, THQ; we work in Downtown Vancouver, one of North America’s great cities.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Associate Producer is responsible for supporting the production staff throughout the full production cycle (pre-production, production and any post shipment development work). The AP should work to uncover morale issues, improve communication, determine potential production/process problems or improvements and help to focus the team on the critical path. The AP will provide support to the Producer in communicating and maintaining the vision of the product as well as helping to maintain any corporate or licensor relationships.


The AP walks a fine line between representing production and being seen as an integral part of the development staff. The AP will face communication challenges and must support the Producer by uncovering morale issues. Many of these issues will not be voiced to upper management but need to be surfaced through effective communication and the on-going presence of the AP. The AP must be willing to challenge the productivity of individuals and the effectiveness of established processes/pipelines set up by more technical individuals.


RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Assist in the development of schedules that translate project goals into action
* Assist team in adhering to project schedule and budgets
* Monitor same schedule, budget, and deadlines
* Coordinate with resources, internal and external, to ensure successful completion of project
* Promote and facilitate process improvements
* Carry out routine daily tasks and procedures of assigned project
* Communicate revisions, changes and information related to the game
* Assist in coordination of intercompany resources
* Reviewing and maintaining information on the state of competing products
* Supporting Marketing and PR with materials as required by the Producer
* Act as a change agent for process improvements
* Involvement in presentations of the product to the team, Relic Management, Corporate Management and any licensors
* Interact with team members (across all disciplines)
* May interact with external/internal vendors
* Communicate daily with Producer to ensure accurate, up to date information is provided


REQUIREMENTS:

* 5+ years of Production experience
* 5+ years of Game specific development experience
* 2+ Full Production Cycles
* Minimum 5 years Project Management experience
* Proven strong negotiation, mediation and conflict resolution skills
* Effective communication skills (written & verbal) across all levels
