Helpdesk Technician (6-Month Contract) | Relic Entertainment  | Vancouver BC CAN | Contract
Job Description:
Relic Entertainment, award winning developers of Homeworld, Dawn of War and the highest rated RTS of all time, Company of Heroes, is looking for an experienced and motivated HELPDESK TECHNICIAN to join our team. Without happy computers, we’re unable to do what we do best – make great games! Here’s your chance to support our production staff maintain the quality of the work they do by providing technical support to all IT users in the organization. The Helpdesk Technician focuses on all aspects of hardware and software that employees use on a day-to-day basis at their work stations.


Responsibilities:

* Install and configure work stations, printers, and other IT equipment
* Install, test and upgrade software
* Prioritize, document and actively resolve end user help requests
* Investigate and troubleshoot software and hardware issues
* Provide proactive and timely solutions to end user's issues
* Process return merchandise authorizations
* Coordinate system giveaways

Skill Requirements:

* Certificate, Diploma or Degree in Computer Science, IT, or Information Systems OR a comparable technical background
* Two (2) years minimum IT, Helpdesk or Technical Support experience
* Well developed desktop and application trouble-shooting skills
* Experience with the following technologies: Norton Ghost, or similar imaging software, Norton/Trend/McAfee or similar corporate antivirus clients, Remote Desktop/VNC-style remote control software and Network Printing
* Strong customer service focus and ability to interact with end users in order to resolve IT issues
* Ability to communicate technical information to both technical and nontechnical audiences
* Very strong attention to detail and task follow-through
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
* Self-motivated, and flexible to handle a variety of tasks
* Linux troubleshooting and Apple/Mac network experience are assets (but not required)
