Senior Console Network Programmer Vigil Games is currently seeking a talented Senior Console Network Programmer to work on an upcoming unannounced title.
Responsibilities: This individual will work closely with Art, Design and Project Management to determine priorities for the project and execute those priorities • Design and implementation of high level network code for next-generation console title • Become the “go to” person for all network engineering-related technical issues • Organize and participate in regular code reviews• Help identify and solve complicated productivity issues• Participate in/lead cross-disciplinary meetings and solve problems• Identify and work with external technology as needed to improve the game’s functionality and/or productivity
Qualifications: • Previous experience writing game network code using TCP/IP and UDP stacks •Thorough understanding of server architecture and TCP/IP networking • Proficient in C/C++ • Experience in client, server, web and database programming technologies • Experience handling bandwidth, latency and synchronization issues •Experience developing on PlayStation 3 or Xbox 360 platform • Solid C/C++ skills• Positive attitude • Strong work ethic • Willingness to adapt • Self motivated • Strong team orientation and verbal / written communication skills. • Strong problem solving and decision-making ability • Computer science or similar degree, or comparable experience
