LEAD ENVIRONMENT ARTIST - WARHAMMER 40K MMO We are looking for an experienced Lead Environment Artist for the Warhammer 40,000 MMO. The candidate must have a passion for all things involved with building AAA environments in games. Warhammer 40,000 is one of the richest IP's in the world. We are looking for someone extraordinary to help us bring our environments to life. You will work with the other art, design, and programming Leads to drive the development of one of the most ambitious game worlds ever conceived. The candidate should have a strong sense of design, feel for games especially MMO's, and an amazing attention to detail. RESPONSIBILITIES • Develop, train, and manage a team of 20+ artists to build a cohesive world that will be worthy of the Warhammer 40,000 name. • Lead the team through your passion and commitment to your own art. • Learning our proprietary technology and tools and represent the needs of a large team of artists. • Collaborating with Art and Design leads to create impactful, functional (and fun!) game worlds and levels. • Conduct peer review critiques, mentor junior and production level artists to become our senior artists of tomorrow. • Modeling and texturing of high quality 3D environments. • Leading and supervising other modelers and texture artists to insure that design/art needs are met. • a strong grasp of all aspects of production of environmental assets for a AAA game. SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS • Excellent concept, modeling and texturing skills, including a strong understanding of efficient techniques for game production. • Experience using 3DSMax, Photoshop and/or Painter. • Excellent verbal communication skills. • Must be able to accept and follow direction, collaborate with others, and work to meet deadlines as necessary. • Excellent organizational skills. Ability to multitask effectively, prioritize competing demands, and follow through on details. • A broad knowledge base of console and PC games. • Work samples required. • Must have shipped at least 1 title as a lead artist • Must have at least 5 years experience developing games.
