Software Engineer – User Interface Programmer | Trion Redwood City  | Redwood City CA 94065 USA | Full Time
Job Description:
The User Interface Programmer is responsible for developing and integrating user interface systems and technologies for the next generation of server-based gaming. Ideal candidates will have a broad range of game development experience, have a strong history of getting things done in a timely and practical manner with minimal supervision, have high standards when it comes to code quality, and have the desire to work on AAA titles in a highly collaborative team environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES
• Design, implement, and support user interface systems and technologies for a AAA fantasy-based MMO
• Work closely with user interface artists to improve workflow as needed
• Identify possible game or interface design pitfalls with artists and provide practical alternatives/solutions


REQUIREMENTS
• 3+ years game development experience with at least one shipped product
• Excellent feel for what makes a game “fun”
• Fluency in C/C++
• Exceptional problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
• Ability to accurately and realistically schedule tasks
• Ability to complete assigned tasks in a timely fashion with a high degree of quality
• Ability to work in a highly collaborative team environment
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Passion for games

PLUSES
• Knowledge of Flash and Action Script 2 scripting
• Strong visual design skills or art background
• Familiarity with MMORPGs
• Experience working closely with designers and artists
• BA/BS in Computer Science, Math, Science or related field with a minimum of 1 year in software development
