We're looking for an experienced UI artist who would love to specialize in the development of User Interfaces for a fantasy MMO. The candidate will be responsible for streamlining the front end and HUD workflow, while they generate exceptional UI assets for all menus, overlays, and other onscreen displays. This is an excellent opportunity for those with a strong sense of graphic design.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Work with Art Director, Lead Artists, Design, and Programming teams to conceptualize, build and implement 2D front-end game interfaces and in-game display HUDs that fit with the style defined by the game
Must possess working knowledge of game engines and artist tools. Keep abreast of any changes and improvements made to the game engine and UI production pipeline during development and work with the Lead Artists, Technical Artist and Tools Programmers to create and augment UI workflow to speed up production
Other opportunities to create in-game assets may become available depending on time and skillset.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Experience designing and implementing flow and function of game Interfaces
Portfolio/Reel that demonstrates exceptional skills, especially with UI's
Familiarity with industry standard tools and software including Photoshop
Strong knowledge of the flow and function of Video Game interfaces
Strong sense of design
Familiarity with Flash
Must be able to communicate with and work well with others in a collaborative environment
Experience with Action Script - a plus
Familiarity with 3DSMax - a plus
Familiarity with Scaleform - a plus
EXPERIENCE
At least 3 years experience in the game industry or equivalent experience
A BFA from an accredited school
Work experience on MMO’s - a plus
