Draw good? Draw here! Concept Artists reports to the Lead Concept Artist. In this role, you will work with the art director, senior artists, and designers in developing and realizing the artistic vision of the project. Applicants should be comfortable with environment, character, and object art, and be capable of creating both realistic and stylized work within a fantasy genre.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Create original and imaginative concept art for a variety of game assets
Generation of production art work for all aspects of the project
Create finished drawings for preproduction and marketing materials as needed
REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Outstanding portfolio that demonstrates a strong artistic style
Excellent drawing skills in both traditional and digital formats
Superb traditional art skills and knowledge of color theory
Excellent grasp of human and animal form, proportion and scale, and the ability to bend those rules in a creative and stylistic way
Strong communication skills
Ability to give and take direction constructively
Ability to self-motivate and to motivate others
Patience and a strong sense of humor
Familiarity with and passion for games
A BFA from an accredited school or equivalent experience
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
Experience working on MMOs is a valuable asset
At least 1 published game credited in a concept artist role
Experience in presentation is an asset
Experience in working with outsourced art teams is an asset
Experience in Chinese/Asian themes is an asset
