Description: The Art Director is responsible for defining the look of our next AAA title, then inspiring and leading the art team to realize that vision
Responsibilites:
Collaborate with the Creative Director and the other members of the art team to define the graphic style and mood of the product.
Ensure consistent application of style and mood across the product, refining and improving the vision throughout the production process.
Work with internal and external concept artists, using found art or working from scratch, to produce concept and reference pieces defining the graphical look of the product.
Identify problem areas in production, then work to find the best compromise between the artistic needs of the project and the technical and organizational capabilities of the team.
Understand the capabilities of our technology, and work with technical artists and the coding team to define new technologies and approaches that move us closer to the artistic vision for the game.
Proactively communicate the artistic vision of the game to the team, to our publishing partners, and eventually to the press and public.
Mediate the impact of visual design on game play, and vice-versa.
Qualifications:
At least three years of industry experience.
Demonstrated success working as an art team lead or—even better—as an art director.
Have shipped at least one product that you’re proud of, and that we’re impressed by.
Strong artistic skills.
Familiarity with all the various parts of a modern art production team— character and environment design, modeling, texturing, animation, lighting—and mastery of at least one.
