Position: CONTENT DESIGNER We are looking for several, highly creative and innovative content designers with the knowledge and passion for making fun virtual worlds and strong online social communities. the Content Designer will:
RESPONSIBILITIES: • Craft engaging, dynamic content, including items, AI and scenarios using an object oriented scripting framework. Reassess and modify existing content as game world evolves • Create and maintain game design documentation throughout the project cycle • Ownership or shared-ownership of specific game content as determined by the lead (e.g., game systems, zones, missions, etc.) • Collaborate with Lead Designer, Senior Designer and Design team to refine game-play mechanics and implementation • Balance and adjust game-play experiences to ensure the product's critical and commercial success • Feel comfortable designing within the design constraints
REQUIREMENTS: • 3+ years game design experience including systems design experience on a shipped product. • Ability to write scripts to manage game events (xml script experience highly desirable) • Ability to both conceptualize and implement game ideas using various tools and technology • Strong communication and technical writing skills, i.e., ability to convey ideas and concepts in a clear, detailed, and organized manner through verbal and written communication • Demonstrable success in creating compelling game-play, scenarios, activities, and encounters • Strong organizational skills, e.g. ability to multitask and keep track of minute details as well as the big picture • Strong computer skills (very comfortable with apps such as MS Word, Excel, Visio, Illustrator, Photoshop, different game editing tools etc.) • Art and programming (e.g. scripting) experience or background a huge plus • An avid gamer with knowledge and understanding of various games and game types, as well as the drive and motivation to push the industry forward creatively • Feel comfortable designing within the design constraints • Creative writing talent a plus • Database knowledge a plus
