Network Engineer | Trion Austin  | Austin TX USA | Full Time
Job Description:
We are looking for a creative, goal-oriented individual with superior analytical abilities, intermediate to advanced knowledge in many facets of network design, implementation, administration, and optimization. The Network Engineer will be in part responsible for following and helping to improve best practices in managing large scale networks. Ideal candidates will have strong technical, communication, and organizational skills, and will be able to learn and adapt quickly in a fast paced environment. Candidates must be open to working with systems with which they may have no direct experience and be willing to expand their skill set to support any such unfamiliar systems. Experience with Interactive Intelligence (I3) or other voice over IP telephony systems a plus.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Install and maintain voice, video and data communications infrastructure systems and cabling.
• Assist with administering and maintaining corporate local and wide area network infrastructure.
• Assist in the installation & management of international public-facing network infrastructure in large-scale data center settings.
• Configure and maintain security devices and VPNs.
• Support a video conferencing network of distributed video units across the U.S. and optimize the network infrastructure over which they run. Interact with internal clients to resolve basic and complex network issues in a timely manner.
• Quickly and accurately document network administration procedures, processes and diagrams

REQUIREMENTS:
• A minimum of 5 years experience as a Network Engineer in a complex mission critical 24x7x365 environment.
• An active CCNP certification in routing and switching, or equivalent and relevant work experience.
• College degree or equivalent business experience.
• Intermediate to advanced real-world working experience configuring and optimizing Quality of Service (QoS) in a converged network.
• Intermediate to advanced real-world experience with routing protocols (especially EIGRP), IT security standards, protocols and applications (such as IPsec VPNs, Firewall configuration and maintenance, and IOS security best practices).
• Working knowledge and experience with BGP.
• Intermediate to advanced working knowledge of network monitoring protocols and/or systems which use SNMP, Syslog, Netflow, etc.
• Intermediate to advanced real-world experience with Cisco IOS routing and switching platforms including Cisco L2/L3 Catalyst switches & ISR platforms.
• Experience with Cisco ASA & Web/SSL VPN.
• Intermediate to advanced experience with voice and video over IP applications.
• Intermediate to advanced experience diagnosing physical layer problems such as CAT5 / CAT6 and Fiber Optic cabling issues, detecting and diagnosing network hardware failures, etc.
