Located in the heart of Hollywood in the former historic RCA recording studios, the Los Angeles Film Schools, LLC was established in February of 1999 by a creative group of talented artists, administrators, and financiers determined to change the face of film schools in Hollywood. Dubbed as one of the best-equipped private learning centers in the country by The Hollywood Reporter, the Los Angeles Film School celebrates the world of film. We are seeking film industry professionals to teach in our program.
The Course Director is responsible for developing the course curriculum for and teaching Game Art 1 & 2. The courses cover fundamental to intermediate skills for creating and manipulating art assets using popular industry software as well as developing artistic technique. Students create characters, objects, environments, and user interface elements across a variety of game genres. The objective of this course is to familiarize students with the process and techniques for creating and modifying 2D and 3D game art assets.
Responsibilities:
Teaching the Game Art 1 & 2 courses on a monthly basis Course management including the development of materials, assessments, student counseling, data management, scheduling, and other academic activities Staff management, including the hiring, scheduling, mentoring, and supervision of other educators Participation in campus activities, including a monthly open house, special interest groups, and other duties as assigned by the Game Production Program Director This is a full-time position
Experience Required:
Teaching and/or public speaking experience preferred Four years related professional work experience Credited on at least three AAA video game titles in a principle artists role Bachelor’s degree in a related field
Skills Required:
Expertise in the following areas: o Photoshop o Maya o Character Development and Design o Character Animation o Art Pipeline, 2D and 3D Excellent presentation and communication abilities A high degree of enthusiasm, a positive attitude, and a willingness to mentor students Competency with PowerPoint/Keynote, MS Office, Windows and Mac OS
