We are looking for a highly-qualified candidate for the position of Technical Art Director. The Technical Art Director will play a significant role in establishing and maintaining the production pipelines. The ideal candidate will be able to work collaboratively with Art and Development teams to help bring our story alive and push the medium forward.
RESPONSIBILITIES • Eliminate technical obstacles from the content teams day-to-day workflow. • Collaborate with the Art teams to develop run-time game content procedures & pipelines. • Design, testing and training of proprietary tools for art content creation. • Collaborate with Art and Test teams in managing art content quality and efficiency in engine. • Establish guidelines and write process documents for art content creation.
QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS • Art-related degree and/or comparable professional experience. • Proficient in Maya, 3DSMax or XSI and the relevant scripting languages. Python and Perl considered a bonus. • Proactive problem solver, able to devise creative, efficient and user-friendly solutions for a wide variety of technical challenges. • Extensive experience with production level content pipelines. • Expert understanding of next-gen game content development processes, limitations and dependencies. Shader scripting/coding skills e.g. Cg/HLSL, GLSL, RenderMan, MentalRay or similar. • Excellent communication, time-management and organizational skills. • Task driven, self-motivated, proactive. • Works well under deadlines.
