Job Description:
Overall, the position of _Developer Support Engineer - Simulation is expected to partner with the organization to:

1. Support licensees in all areas of developer support to include:

* CPU-centric techniques such as physics and collision-detection, with a lesser emphasis on animation and pathfinding techniques. This position will assist licensees in maximizing the computational capabilities of PlayStation platforms within their particular game engines. The role focuses on the explanation of new and novel techniques in the above areas.
* Initiating projects or sample code demonstrating how such techniques can be accelerated using a specific hardware feature or shading language.
* This person should also be aware of upcoming initiatives, protocols, techniques, and tools in the aforementioned areas which directly affect the game market.
* The candidate will be expected to contribute in other areas on behalf of the group such as working to establish game policy guidelines and hardware test setups and advising standards committee or collaborative development of technologies in the above areas.

REQUIRED SKILLS - This section outlines skills necessary to perform the function. Examples of skill categories are:

* PEOPLE: Working with internal and external licensees will be the primary responsibility for the candidate. They will also need to work within the developer support team for process, internal groups for direct SDK support - both domestic and international. This position will be called on to deliver presentations to licensees in small to large groups.

* TECHNICAL: This person has 3-5 years of experience with C, and strong math skills such as would be necessary to implement typical game techniques for rigid-body dynamics, inverse kinematics, collision detection, and animation. The ideal candidate will have experience implementing real-time algorithms and techniques using hardware features to perform parallel computation. Console and assembly experience are a plus, and the candidate should be willing to learn a new hardware architecture. The ideal candidate will have experience in these areas on existing PlayStation platforms. Understanding production issues in the above areas as they relate to game engines, tool development, and content pipelines is required.

* PLANNING/IMPLEMENTATION: Experience at the implementation level of a simulation, including use of hardware features to achieve good performance, is necessary. Ideally this will have been as the lead physics or simulation programmer on a shipped game title.

* INDUSTRY: Knowledgeable of trends, techniques and practices applicable to the game development field.
