Director of Architecture for Games Development Organization
Key responsibility areas/Activities:
Manages multi-site global R&D Games organization, including all development functions for a business line
Is responsible for building, delivering and supporting a world-class, large scale development platform that supports games, simulation and virtual environments
Partners with Strategy and Product lines to develop future strategy of business line
Demonstrates experience delivering high quality solutions in a predictable manner
Creates standards for architectural requirements
Creates discipline and processes for shipping software, for quality and requirements management
Partners with product management on product & feature function definition
Is responsible for resource and budget planning, team objective setting, resource planning, competence development and talent development
Drives development milestones (Program & Schedule Management)
External outreach: In an effort to further Nokia’s gaming business, teams with 3rd party game developers to help create robust and exciting gaming dev’t community; provides creative approaches to building technology and enables more engagement with 3rd party developers; builds an online community (forums)
Competencies required:
Extensive Software Development management experience (10+ years)
Broad product development experience (including product definition / engineering / test / etc. )
Domain space expertise in Games development
Broad consumer experience
Knowledge of a broad range of technologies and practices (as Nokia delivers on device, web and PC)
