Blizzard Entertainment is looking for a self-motivated and skilled information services systems administrator with a minimum of 5 years’ experience specific to the IT support / administration industry.

The ideal candidate is extremely customer-focused and organized. He or she also possesses mid-range experience related to systems, network, and telecom systems in an Enterprise environment.

What's the Operations Systems Admin team like?

We’re a close-knit group of talented IT professionals. We work in the coolest environment and have access to the best IT technology. Most of us live in the Irvine area. We are passionate about all games and products produced by Blizzard. We eat and drink together and play SC II, DIII, and WoW together. Our main hours of operational coverage are from 8AM – 7PM. Unless you are on-call, a normal shift is eight hours. Training opportunities are made available to learn and grow, and you will learn new skills on the job. Personal growth and embracing your inner geek are also encouraged.

Responsibilities

Supporting the core internal-facing IT infrastructure including the Starcraft, Diablo and World of Warcraft development team environment.
Work with global peers and development teams to resolve internal -facing application issues.
Work with our implementation and engineering teams to resolve various IT issues at the company.
Follow incident, problem, crisis, and change management processes.
Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve technical problems relating to systems, network, and telecom infrastructure.
Work with global IT teams to assist in supporting global office IT infrastructure.
Respond to telephone calls, email, and personnel requests of technical support in a timely manner.
Participate in an on-call schedule and available 24/7, as needed

Requirements

A minimum of 3 years’ of systems administration, or industry equivalent experience.
A minimum of 3 years’ supporting a Windows Active Directory / Enterprise Messaging Environment
A minimum of 3 years’ supporting enterprise networking environments
A minimum of 3 years’ supporting VMware / Virtualization environments
A minimum of 1 year supporting enterprise storage environments
Intermediate knowledge of enterprise server-class hardware
Intermediate knowledge of enterprise Unix / Linux
Intermediate knowledge of enterprise Cisco networking hardware, and / or CCNA certification
Intermediate knowledge of scripting / programming in any applicable language
Outstanding customer service skills
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Strong organization and time-management skills
Can-do attitude
Strong troubleshooting skills and problem solving
Able (and willing) to lift a minimum of 70 lbs.
A passion for video games

Pluses

A degree in computer science or a related field
Experience with enterprise backup / restore procedures
Experience with BMC Remedy
Database administration experience (MS SQL, MySQL, Oracle)
Able to effectively present complex information to a wide variety of audiences
ITIL Framework and Processes
Enterprise source control (Subversion, Alienbrain, Perforce, GIT, etc.)
Enterprise configuration management solutions (SCCM or similar)
Enterprise Monitoring
