Blizzard Entertainment is looking for an exceptionally skilled lead 3D character artist to work on the award-winning World of Warcraft. The role is very hands on and will be responsible for flushing out the first look of any new race alongside the art director. In addition, this person will also be responsible for a highly skilled group of character artists. It’s important that the lead character artist acts as a role model, mentor, and champion for their department.

To ensure the position remains as hands-on as possible, it is supported by an art producer to aid in scheduling, and an art manager to assist in day to day management.

Requirements
A minimum of 5 years’ experience in game development using 3DS Max or equivalent 3D program
Shipped a AAA PC, or console title as a character artist
Experience in critiquing, coaching, and growing artists of all levels
Experience working with an art director in developing a unique and cohesive visual style
Exceptional understanding of human and creature anatomy, and a keen eye towards form, shape, structure, and silhouette in regards to modeling
Thorough understanding of 3D character art pipelines and the processes involved from the conceptual phase to implementation
Able to effectively collaborate with game designers and programmers
Passion for video games
