Remedy Entertainment, the creator of Max Payne® and Alan Wake®, and one of the leading independent game studios in the world is looking for a Technical Artist to help realize our vision for the next blockbuster on future generation consoles.
As a Technical Artist, you would work closely with our engine, tools and content teams creating tools and improving pipelines that enable the creation of our next blockbuster. Your primary focus would be in helping artists create awesome art, developing and maintaining productivity tools for modelers and animators, as well as improving our content pipelines and tool-chains.
What are we looking for?
When we decide who gets the job, we’ll put emphasis on the following criteria:
-Fluent with 3D modeling packages. Our team is using Maya, 3DSMax and MotionBuilder, and you should be fluent with these tools as well.
-Programming skills. You’d be working with Max & Maya SDKs so experience in languages like C++, C#, Python, MAXScript and MEL is very much welcome. We don’t expect you to be the next John Carmack, but you shouldn’t generate endless spaghetti either.
-Good 3D math skills. You know your way around vector and matrix math, and if someone mentions quaternions you don’t panic and run out of the room.
-Eye for content analysis. You can spot problematic or suboptimal geometry, UV mapping issues and so forth with ease.
-Experience in game development. Ideally you’ve been involved in a game project or two, and you understand how content pipelines work.
-Passion for games. We like developing games as much as we like playing them, and so should you :)
