A, E, I, O, U. E-I, E-I, O-O-O. PHP. One of these things is not like the other…but here at Insomniac – we are looking for the PHP one! We are searching for a senior programmer that could be responsible for any of the following web applications in their programming duties: MySQL database design, PHP coding and optimization, ActionScript 3, Python, Javascript, HTML, or CSS. This specific position will have a heavy emphasis on ActionScript3 and PHP programming. PHEW!

Essential Duties and Responsibilities can include the following.
• Advanced knowledge of coding in Javascript, HTML, and CSS
• Advanced knowledge of coding in MySQL database design and optimization
• Advanced knowledge in PHP programming, optimization, bandwidth reduction, CPU cycle reduction
• Ability to work with custom database backup, restore and rollback scripts.
• Advanced knowledge of ActionScript 3.0
• Advanced knowledge of server deployment scripts, and deployment practices
• Advanced knowledge in web server maintenance and troubleshooting
• Ability to produce reusable and clean code
• Ability to work independently and troubleshoot problems and issues with other departments to help meet requirements for functionality, scope control, fun factor, and performance
• Provide technical input to other programmers; mentor less senior programmers as appropriate

• Other duties may be assigned.

Education and/or Experience:
• Master's degree (M.A.) or equivalent; or five to seven years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Degree in Computer Science is favorable.
• Certification in PHP web development preferred, graphics and software programming.
• Highly Proficient at ActionScript, Adobe Illustrator, Flash, and Photoshop.
• Strong grasp of MS Word, Visio, and Excel.
• Experience with programming is a plus. (C and C++ programming especially)
• Familiarity with Linux/Unix web server architecture a plus.

Other Skills: Strong communication skills. Art and design experience is a plus. Facebook/Social Gaming experience a plus, along with source control (Perforce, SVN, etc). Familiarity with UI/UX design is a plus.
