Job Descriptiontop

Harmonix is seeking a battle-tested QA Director with the ability and passion to re-imagine quality practices, as well as build a world-class quality organization. The ideal candidate will have mastery of QA methodologies, strong leadership skills, and feel comfortable communicating across departments.

Responsibilities

*Establish a vision for quality standards for games and core technology; determine systems improvement and implement change.
*Architect quality assurance processes and best practices, including test automation.
*Create repeatable test methodology including norms for test plan documentation and execution, including the mix of black box and white box testing; ad hoc testing; functional and regression testing; usage of automated test tools
*Develop and continually improve quality processes with measurable indicators and metrics. Prepare and discuss quality report with management.
*Develop or specify standards and procedures to determine release readiness.
*Ensure console manufacturer/download channel certification requirements are planned for and met.
*Develop effective relationships within the game development teams and with senior management, providing domain expertise and training on testing and operational methodology.
*Identify and manage external test resources as needed.
*Assign appropriate employees and contractors to projects, following up on work results.
*Maintain awareness of industry standards in order to strengthen organizational and technical knowledge.
*Anticipate resource needs, recruit resources and develop succession plans.
*Create an environment that promotes individual creativity and fosters professional growth.
*Provide leadership and mentoring of staff, while staying abreast of the details of all projects and initiatives. Ensure work is delivered in accordance with agreed scope, time, financial, and quality measures.
*Forecast and manage Quality Assurance budget.

Experience Requiredtop

*5+ years QA management experience in software development, with games development experience preferred.
*Experience hiring and managing both full-time and contract/short-term QA staff.
*Expert in quality assurance and engineering methods, including automation.
*Familiarity with SCRUM/Agile development.
*Demonstrated exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
