With over 450 alumni actively developing games for over 150 studios worldwide, the Guildhall has provided talent to almost every major title in recent history. As the premier education source in the video game industry, our faculty have the ability to teach and mentor tomorrow’s leaders. Taking a job at the Guildhall allows you to influence how hundreds of games are built. Guildhall lecturer schedules follow the academic calendar including fall, winter, spring, and optional summer breaks.

eCenter Faculty: The Guildhall at SMU invites applicants for the position of eCenter faculty to teach in the graduate-level digital game development program in the Production specialization starting in the Spring 2013 semester, module B. Teaching positions are non-tenure track with a one-year (academic year) renewable term and a full-time teaching load. Full benefits accorded to full-time faculty are included.

Position requirements are the following:

•A graduate degree in a related field required
•Knowledge of current best practices in game development
•A passion for developing and playing video games

Preferred position requirements include as many of the following:
•A minimum of five years of meaningful experience in the development of games
•Successfully completed at least 3+ games as a lead
•Project management skills
oAble to create, track and manage software development
oProven experience in managing teams of developers
oFamiliarity with MS Project a plus
oExperience with Agile development a plus
•Knowledge in publishing (business and marketing of gaming); contracts, budgets, P & Ls
•Strong technical writing, editing skills, and database structures
•Excellent communication and organizational skills
•Experience teaching at the University level
•Doctorate or terminal degree
