The Institute for Business and Information Technology (IBIT) encompasses both Instructional and Professional/Technical degree and certificate options crossing multiple program areas. IBIT serves a diverse student population which has wide-ranging interests focusing on academic preparation to career progression, and encompassing high-school students to adult learners with a wide range of student abilities from at-risk to advanced, along with sometimes shortened cycles of impact due to completion of certificates or the securing of employment during the program. This places additional demands and pressures on faculty in Professional/Technical programs while also adding significant value to students by way of opportunity creation in challenging economic times.
The Digital Media Arts (DMA) program is one of five professional-technical programs within the institute and offers an Associate’s degree featuring student-selected concentrations. Students are prepared for entry-level positions in graphic design, game design, 3D animation, video/film, web design, motion graphics and interactive media design.
Full-time faculty member in DMA will perform duties and functions under the direction of the Vice President of Instruction and will be directly responsible to the Dean of the Institute for Business and Information Technology in the following areas: direct student learning in assigned courses; establish and assess student learning outcomes; participate in the development of program curriculum and activities; advise students and mentor faculty; meet accreditation requirements; serve as program chair if needed; maintain current knowledge and skills in areas of assignment; engage in professional development and/or certification activities; participate in governance, decision making, and activities for the program, division, and college; cultivate a positive, supportive learning environment in which diversity and pluralism are valued.
This individual is responsible for teaching courses that may include, but not limited to: beginning to intermediate Motion Graphics, Game Design, 3D Animation, Level Design, 2D Animation, Game Logic and/or Game Programming offered in on-campus, hybrid and online learning environments.
