Rare is one of the UK's most well-known developers, having produced a wealth of classic titles (from Donkey Kong Country to Killer Instinct, GoldenEye to Conker's Bad Fur Day) over a full two decades in the games business. Acquired by Microsoft Game Studios in 2002, Rare is now focused on broadening the demographic of the Xbox brand by continuing to produce its trademark family-friendly titles, while also bringing to bear the full weight of major franchises such as Conker, Banjo and Perfect Dark.
Its most recent success stories are Kameo: Elements of Power and Perfect Dark Zero, two of the three first-party Microsoft titles published to lead the Xbox 360 software charge alongside the console's launch in November 2005. Still expanding by the day; our custom-built rural HQ in the heart of the English countryside, could be the perfect place to further your career.
As a member of Rare'™s Build Lab Team you will be working to improve the quality and stability of games at every stage of development, leveraging code analysis and performance tools. You will be responsible for maintaining the scripts and applications that developers use at each step of the build process, everything from interacting with source control systems and digital asset management, to pushing the latest version out to the teams build portal.
