The newest division in the Lucasfilm Ltd. family is Lucasfilm Animation, a fully digital operation with studios in Mann County, Calif., and in Singapore. People in both locations are at work creating entirely new digital entertainment for films, television and games.
Lucasfilm Animation US currently has 105 employees located at our Big Rock Facility in Marin County focusing on our Clone Wars Episodic TV series. The US office contains the Story group, Art department, and the CO look development team consisting of Concept Artists, Storyboard Artists, Layout/Previz Artists, Technical Directors, Modelers, Character TD’s, and Texture Artists.
Lucasfilm Singapore currently employs over 100 artists consisting of Concept Artists, Layout Artists, Game Designers, Game Engineers, Game Artists, as well as Character Animators and Digital Artists engaged in Modeling, Texturing, Rigging, Lighting, Painting, Compositing and Rendering to focus on work for Industrial Light and Magic, Lucasfilm Animation US, and Lucasarts creating visual effects for Film, Animation for TV, and a Handheld game.

Lucasfilm Singapore is a digital animation studio designed to produce digital animated content, including films, television and games for global audiences. Located in the Changi area of Singapore the studio opened in October of 2005 and covers approx. 40,000 square feet. More than 75 employees from 22 countries around the world have already been hired and hiring will continue through out 2006 and beyond. The Singapore operation will work hand-in-hand with the Lucasfilm companies at Skywalker Ranch in Marin County, California and at The Presidio in San Francisco, CA. They begin production on a 3D animated television show based on the '˜Star Wars' universe and are currently in the early hiring stages for a Handheld Development Team to start working on games for handheld devices later this year.
