Tools Programmer

The Position

Avalanche Studios is looking for an exceptionally talented Tools Programmer with a passion for vehicles. Your work will be focused around supporting the vehicle artists, vehicle programmers and vehicle designers in delivering a AAA next gen vehicle experience. You will work with the Art Director and Outsourcing Manager to help manage, research and evolve the vehicle content pipeline and act as a liaison between artists, designers and programmers. The ideal candidate should be a highly motivated individual who is good at communicating and working within cross-discipline teams.

The ideal candidate is capable of a “hands-on” approach, putting a high emphasis on the maintainability, flexibility and efficiency of the pipeline.

Required qualifications
Please do not apply if you don’t meet all of these requirements

  • Content pipeline experience
  • Python scripting experience
  • C++ programming experience
  • Knowledge of Maya, including Maya plugins
  • Knowledge of current 3D graphics techniques
  • Shipped at least one game title as Technical Artist / Tools Programmer involved with the content pipeline, preferably a AAA title

Desired qualifications

  • Rigging setup experience
  • Photoshop knowledge, plugins
  • Experience with Havok
  • Experience with vehicle or destruction pipelines
  • Shader experience
