Utilize rapid prototyping to create and test effective prototypes of interesting gameplay mechanics.
Work closely with other disciplines to craft “simple to learn, hard to master” game systems.
Create and share precise and readable game design documentation.
A resident expert in gameplay, able to quickly analyze and evaluate play patterns.
Become the resident expert on the entire LD pipeline, scripting and all technical requirements; with ability to assist in solving any issue that comes up with workarounds and/or reporting to leads on blockers.
Proficiency with systems design, game tuning, content design, and user experience.
Gain insight from play testing and quickly iterate to improve experience.
Collaborate to take mockups and prototypes to production ready experiences.
Must have at least 4 years’ experience in Unreal 3 in a design capacity.
Strong written communication skills, ability to convey abstract concepts.
Experience with Kismet, and at least one other scripting language.
At least one shipped console game.
Passionate gamer and creative problem solver.
Excellent testing and debugging skills.
Experience with version control (checkout, commit, merge).
A love for traditional and classic games.
Drawing or drafting skills.
Experience with 3D modeling packages.
Bachelor’s degree in Game Design, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field.
Proven ability to work well in a team environment.
Superior organization skills and works well under deadlines.
Aptitude in a non-design development skill (e.g., art, audio, programming, cinema, animation, etc.).
