The short story is Lockheed Martin is looking for a seasoned 3D Graphics Gamer Guru to join our team in Orlando, FL to help us develop exciting real world games to help the Warfighter.

The Group: Within Lockheed Martin our group is called the SAGE team. SAGE stands for The Scalable Advanced Graphics Engine. The SAGE systems we build are based on our hybrid gaming visual solution which provides richly detailed images and motion. SAGE models scenarios such as traffic on city streets or the effects of a mortar to provide a detailed training experience. Realism comes from integrating gaming technologies including Havok™ physics, destruction, animation, artificial intelligence, cloth and script technologies. SAGE Team products include flight simulators, gunnery simulators, and full-motion tank/truck driver trainers as well as many others.

The Job: We are looking for a 3D Graphics software enthusiast to join our SAGE Team. The senior software engineer will work in a high tech flight simulations environment with cutting edge hardware, software, and systems. This exciting work will include writing C++ applications and programming in OpenGL. The software engineer will mentor less experienced engineers. The software engineer will work with collaborate with other engineering disciplines routinely. The Software Engineer will design, develop, integrate software for a 3D graphics engine. Basic Qualifications & Desired Skills:

Basic Qualifications: Minimum requirements for this position will include a BS Degree Computer Science or Computer Engineering, Math, Physics, or closely related technical field and 5 to 7 years of professional level experience. Experience with development, debugging, and optimizing C++ software for a 3D graphics engine is required. Passion for graphics technology is required. Strong 3D math skills are required. Demonstrated problem solving skills the ability to solve problems in a team environment is required. Experience with advanced shader techniques in GLSL or HLSL is required. Experience with OpenGL 4.x graphics programming is required. Excellent written and oral communication skills are required. The ability to work with minimal supervision is required. The successful candidate will have a positive, respectful, team-oriented attitude. Familiarity with the software development lifecycle; Agile preferred. Ability to program in a Linux environment is required.

Desired skills: An MS level degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering or closely related technical field may be desirable. Delta3D programming experience is desired. CryENGINE programming experience is desired. Experience with character animation techniques is desired. Agile/Extreme development team experience is desired. Physics or artificial intelligence aka AI experience is desired. Experience writing highly optimized graphics code, multi-pass shaders and render targets and advanced techniques for real-time lighting and shadows is desired. Experience with multi-threaded game engines and rendering systems.is desired. Experience with converting and integrating data from standard GIS data formats is desired.
