Senior Touch System Engineer

 

High performance display and touch design is quickly becoming a strategic imperative on Intel Architecture ecosystem, as new operating systems come on line that support and promote touch on notebook and desktop screens.  The new UI experience will drive end user expectations for high quality display and touch performance, making it one of the most differentiating aspects in the end products.  The touch display panel ecosystem is complex with many subcontractors and complicated supply chains.  Developing enabling new technology in this environment is a challenge and requires in-depth understanding of the technologies and players involved. Intel is increasingly the driver of end to end products, so we must have the experience and expertise in-house   With all these exciting changes in mind, we are forming a Center of Excellence for display and touch technology development in Intel. We sets the technical goals and strategy, lead the development of leading edge technologies and designs,  supports the investment teams, and works with the current and evolving ecosystem to provide differentiating capabilities to PC client and mobile communication platforms.  This team is part of the Client Solution and Technology team in PCCG.   As the senior member of the team, you will be providing leadership with a tight-knit group of highly talented engineers at the forefront of the innovation for PC and mobile devices, driving enabling technologies for Intel architecture, develop and implement leading edge designs into our ecosystem, advise Intel Capital and your management through assessment of display and touch technologies under consideration for investments, working with other PCCG teams, including management, on display and touch technologies as needed, support validation and review quality control process for designs under development by third party vendors.        Qualifications   ·        Engineering/Science Masters Degree. PhD Preferred. ·        Minimum 7 years of relevant experience, plus 3 years experience with technical lead responsibilities such as team leadership, influencing and motivating co-workers, project definition and guiding team execution.   ·        Must effectively communicate and interact with other internal departments as well as senior management. ·        Strengths in system theory and electronics, both analog and digital. ·        Broad technical experience is essential. Skills in some or all of the following areas are necessary: ·        circuit and system design ·        embedded firmware algorithms ·        physics ·        mathematics ·        analog and digital signal processing ·        system-level modeling and simulation ·        capacitive touch technology ·        Rigorous and methodological approach to problem solving ·        Hands-on design, bring-up, test and debug skills ·        Demonstrated ability to successfully coordinate and drive R&D technology projects ·        Effective multi-tasking capability ·        Attention to detail
