Lead Level Designer

At Zindagi, the Lead Level Designer is one of the most critical parts of the design team and overall game effort.  You will work directly with creative leadership, production, and leads from all disciplines to deliver a top notch, AAA quality product!

In this role you will have the following responsibilities:

  • Responsible for leading the level design effort and the output of level design team
  • Lead and help manage a team of level designers
  • Demonstrate ownership and the ability to act decisively and passionately in the area of level design, and push every day to make it better
  • Design, plan, implement, and iterate on gameplay
  • Display knowledge and understanding of what makes fun gameplay and help spread that to other level designers
  • Help manage, mentor and guide the efforts of junior and mid-level designers
  • Help establish, maintain, and teach production pipeline as it related to the level design with other departments
  • Communicate effectively with all other departments, particularly those related to level design output
  • Demonstrate expertise in all areas of level design, including (but not limited to):
  • Cameras
  • Puzzles
  • Traversal and Platforming needs
  • Paper design
  • Sound
  • 3D Layout and Mock-ups
  • AI placement and behavior
  • Boss battles
  • Event scripting



  • 5+ years experience in the game industry
  • A 4 year degree
  • High proficiency in LUA scripting or similar scripting or programming language
  • High proficiency in 3D modeling package, preferably Maya
  • At least 2 shipped console titles (PS3/X360) as a senior or higher level designer
  • Extreme attention to detail
  • High energy level, every day, for making games
