Senior Competition Manager

Ubisoft, a global leader in the video games and entertainment software industry, is currently seeking a full-time Senior Competition Manager for its Player Engagement department.  This individual will report to the Senior Director of Player Engagement, and will champion the creation and execution of a new competition program, which will feature a combination of games at events and online. The role will be in charge of this new initiative which is both a marketing platform as well as a new business opportunity. The ideal candidate is an independent, self-motivated leader with a proven track record of working with eSports competitive systems and events or key entertainment experience, proactively identifying strategies and anticipating business needs, while being able to execute strategies that help define and build upon a larger competition strategy.

 

This person must have strong motivation and personnel management skills, and able to budget and plan initiatives while creating compelling competitive experiences. This is a management position leading a team of experts in gaming and competition with a lot of opportunity for growth.

 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead and assist in the development of all Ubisoft competitive and eSports programs including planning, execution, and operational management
  • Lead the development of all competitive tools and tournament systems
  • Manage competition budget, forecasting and P&L.
  • Qualitative and quantitative competitive market research and analysis
  • Build consensus and visibility across the organization and globally.
  • Evaluate and propose strategy for the competition as a service model while executing on operational outputs.
  • Manage and facilitate programs that support players, dozens of third party tournament organizers, shout casters and other third-party vendors.
  • Build consensus and visibility in the design process for key stakeholders across the organization.
  • Leading sales and business development deals for the initiative
  • Exceed key performance indicators for each program.

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher.
  • Minimum 7 years’ experience in management, marketing or business development.
  • Entertainment experience in content programming
  • Strategic thinker with demonstrated leadership, management, and communication skills
  • Prior tournament organization and event budgeting experience with P&L expertise.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and self-motivation to drive change and influence others.
  • Strong presentation skills with proven ability to work with other cross-functional teams to drive change.
  • Ability to travel.
  • Extensive knowledge of competitive pro-gaming leagues, ladders, and tournaments in the eSports landscape
  • Passionate about gaming and desire to create services that meet gamers’ needs!
