Networking Programmer

Nerd Kingdom is looking for a Networking Programmer for their Dallas TX offices.  We are currently in the process of bringing an exciting project to life and are in need of a talented programmer who is quick to learn and can step into a vital position immediately in our staff.



  • Bringing new systems such as multiplayer networking support into an existing procedurally generated terrain engine.

  • Support research and design goals through every new system added into the game as they relate to multiplayer.



  • Worked on at least one title as a networking programmer

  • Experience with low level networking, both client and server side

  • Experience with Client-Side Prediction

  • Experience with Latency Compensation

  • Knowledge of current C++ standards

  • Be able to work well in a small, dynamic group of people

  • Must be able to work with minimal supervision

  • Must have a genuine drive to succeed as a team, not just as an individual

  • Must be able to work in multiple game systems and gain a broad understanding of the entire game



  • Experience with cloud computing

  • Experience in script-based gameplay

  • Experience in launching a game

  • Familiarity with startups and their culture

  • Knowledge of game design as well as programming

  • Experience with Boost Asio, STL, Visual Studio 2010, LUA

  • Experience with profiling and optimizing code

  • Experience with source control systems, specifically SVN

  • Experience with multi-threading
