MegaMada, a new company formed by members of an award winning online educational resource company, is looking for an exceptionally talented individual to join our team as a Lead Game Developer. You will work closely with our content and design teams to develop cross/multi platform game systems.
We are a small start up team of educators, designers, and scientists developing science learning games (with an initial product in chemistry) for high school students with a focus on building a deep understanding.The ideal candidate will help bring our vision to life by designing the backbone of technology for our product(s).
Lead the development and implementation of learning games that will integrate with a teacher/student portal and a content management system for mobile platforms and the web
Work closely with our content and design teams to craft technical solutions that are intrinsically scalable, cross-platform, and adaptable to a wide range of requirements
Rapidly prototype game systems
Evaluate and stay current on best practices and evolving technologies in gaming across a variety of platforms with consideration to current technological capabilities in schools
Define and document policies, standards and guidelines that direct the selection, development, implementation and use of technology for our games
Continually test, debug, analyze, profile and optimize across all development platforms
Minimum 5 years professional game development experience
Proven senior or lead experience on at least 2 shipped multi-platform games (iOS/Android/web)
high level knowledge of 2D game development in Unity
Wide-ranging and in-depth practical understanding of and experience with all stages of the development cycle (including application analysis, development, implementation, and support)
Experience working with highly scalable and modular game systems
A strong understanding of game design principles and player experience
Strong technical leadership and project management experience
Excellent ability to communicate and collaborate with other engineers, and across disciplines
Self-motivated with a can-do attitude
Good to have
Strong background with Flash/ActionScript a big plus
Server-side, network engineering experience
Experience in an enterprise environment
Familiarity with the limitations of classroom computers (web access, permissions, etc)
Knowledge of chemistry and/or other areas of science
Interest in and passion for educational products
Minimum BS Computer Science or related field
