Interactive Studio Operations Manager

Have you ever longed to disintegrate your tyrannical robot overlord with your trusty raygun? Of course you have, we all have; who needs motorised metal morons telling us what to do with our lives? Well now's your chance to help thwart the mechanical menace by joining our team here at Weta Workshop and Magic Leap as our Studio Operations Manager.

With an arsenal of project management and operations experience to rival any robot's raygun, you'll be managing the day-to-day operations of our busy Interactive Studio. Facilities; equipment; processes; performance. They're yours to wield with an analyst's mind and a collaborative spirit as you rub shoulders with multiple departments across Weta Workshop and Magic Leap in your bid to Get Stuff Done.

But this role is so much more than the day-to-day. Alongside other movers and shakers, you'll help drive the division's long-term success. On any given day you'll be building relationships, tracking financials, and contributing strategic analysis – all with one finger firmly on pulse.  Because you're efficient like that.

Not content to bury yourself in a spreadsheet, you'll also provide mentorship to our enthusiastic creative team as you help them through this bold new frontier we've forging together. You may not be fluent in Robot just yet (give it time), but if you know the exotic language of Operations like the back of your hand, we want to know.

What you'll do:

  • Manage day to day office operations to ensure the studio runs smoothly
  • Ensure teams are working effectively towards business goals by providing operational support and guidance to team members
  • Manage the financials for the Interactive Studio
  • Identify product market opportunities and manage the studio's long term business success
  • Track and monitor production across studio projects

Specifically, we're looking for:

  • Game/Entertainment/Technology industry experience
  • 5+ years project management and/or operations experience
  • Exceptional analytical, financial, and problem-solving skills.
  • Someone who is self-motivated, able to demonstrate initiative, flexibility, maturity under pressure, and anticipate and resolve problems before they develop.
  • A team player who is able to build relationships and work collaboratively across business units/functions e.g. IT, Finance & Recruiting.
  • Ability to highlight trends and help build presentations that share learnings or implement improvements.
  • Confidentiality and integrity in dealing with highly sensitive information.

If you think you've got what it takes and would like to apply for this role please click the 'Apply' button below and attach your cover letter and CV. Following your application, a confidential discussion and further information regarding the role is available by emailing Philippa Curtis at philippa.jane.curtis@gmail.com.

Applications close 5pm Friday 28th July 2017.
